Mirrors all around, reflecting back the scrawny, hollowed girl in them.
Pretty... The silvery glint of the mirrors captivated her, magenta eyes lined with black gazing at them, thin fingers reaching out to touch the ethereal glass pieces.
She didn't see herself in the mirrors.
Suddenly, they broke, yet no sound echoed through the dark space. The countless mirrors merely shattered, shards of argent raining down on the puzzled girl. Her fingers remained outstretched, yearning to touch the sharp fragments.
Why did they break?
Insane, high-pitched laughter answered her silent question.
Sound? She glanced over her shoulder, fuchsia eyes giving way to fear. She trembled slightly. From the cold of this dark abyss, or the fear of getting cut from the raining splinters, or from hunger - she hadn't eaten in days - or was it...
him?
Cold, merciless obsidian eyes glared malovently at her small frame, gold irises held a certain mischievous glint to them. He was dressed oddly. A white hakama. Black straw sandals. Black nails. Blue tongue?
"Nice place, isn't it? I never get enough of the mirrors."
"Mirrors..." She muttered, having difficulty grasping the new word.
His maniacal grin grew impossibly wide. "I haven't had any visitors in a little while now - " He stopped. "You don't know what I am, do you?"
Turning fully towards him now, the girl shook her head slowly. Rubbing her eyes, she held back a yawn, something telling her this wasn't the appropriate response to his question. But she felt so, so tired...
The grin turned into a cocky smirk. "Tired, are ya? Pathetic, the way humans function. And yet..." One step. He drew closer to the girl. Two steps. Instincts told her to run, but to where? And she was so exhausted... Three steps. She winced, the smell of blood and rain attacking her senses. Sharp, vile, he smelled like death. Like when lightning struck the ground, that gunmetal smell of electricity. Hideous, menacing, evil.
Hollow.
By the fourth step, he was right in front of her eyes, the impeccably white hakama filling her vision. Before she could react, a vice-like grip wrapped itself around her parched throat. She gagged at the sudden assault, squeezing her eyes shut reflexively to the pain. She wanted to cry out but the bile rising in her throat did not allow it. All she could do was scratch weakly at his arm, her mouth open in a silent scream.
"No one will hear you anyway," he said cruelly, a snarl forcing its way through his words. "This is my world and you, my dear girl, are my prey."
Fear mocked her, those creepy gold orbs piercing through her very soul. She was too weak to fight, certainly not against an insane creature like him. Whatever he was.
He tightened his hold around her thin neck, the pain unbearable. Dark spots appeared in her vision, melding with the dark atmosphere around her. The white creature was getting blurry...
"No one will miss you. Living on the streets is like that, isn't it? Forgotten, abandoned, lonely, cruelly shoved aside by a world who couldn't care less about a dirty,
tainted street rat like yourself. No one will miss you, no one cares. No one will."
She cried.
Blood, guns, rape, dark, cold, stranger, empty, rain, lightning, dying -
Save me.He raised a white blade, the chain on the hilt chinked, the light yet menacing sound resonating through the pitch black.
"So empty, so hollow, hurt slashed away your heart, didn't it? Angels that fall from grace, can never recover their lost wings. You know why?"
Fearfully, she shook her head.
" 'Cos they've already been tainted by blood."
A streak of white, then darkness.
“I’ll soak this world in blood until I can’t feel the rain anymore.”
